Body on Display I

Feelings and emotions are subject to events experienced by the individual. Past events can act as a control agent to how a person feels and perceives things in life. I try to control my feelings and emotions through clothes, which in turn also helps me in being free and express myself better, emotionally and visually.
My work is influenced by a childhood event, which has control over my feelings and emotions. Clothes being the only thing that was guarding me has become the means of my expressions in my work. My work began with taking photographs of cloth wrapped around my body showing a sense of fear hidden inside me. Later during the drawing process I became more open in stepping in my personal domain and expressing myself better, emotionally and visually. Drawing with a stick has given me the freedom to express my feelings and has allowed me to see things differently. It was at that point when I started looking at my drawings as a mirror image of my personality and my feelings. I believe now I am able to express myself fully, better than ever.
